At 6’7″ Conor Dunne is known as ‘Lange’, which in Flemish more or less means ‘the tall one.’ He towers above the peloton and is the only rider we have met with size fifty-one feet. One of his nearest challengers for the title of tallest man in the peloton was the recently-retired 2011 Paris-Roubaix winner Johan van Summeren who is about an inch shorter.
The Irishman joined JLT Condor this year after impressing John Herety at the 2015 World Road Race Championships in Richmond.
Prior to racing for the British team, he spent two years with the An Post-Chain Reaction team. Since joining the British team, Condor have been using him as a test man for their new aluminium Italia RC frameset.
This season, Dunne took a UCI win in the summer after a brave attack in the Rutland – Melton International CiCLE Classic. He also achieved top-ten stage placings in the Tour de Korea and Tour of Taiwan. Unfortunately, he also fell down the side of a mountain in the Tour de Korea.
