The Single-Speed Cyclo-Cross World Championships took place at the weekend in Victoria, Canada and it’s a little bit different to the action seen in Belgium at Hasselt and Koksijde in the past few days.
The organisers describe the race as follows: “SSCXWC is not merely a race, it’s a weekend of events and ridiculousness dedicated solely to those who ride cross with a single gear.”
SSCXWC has 2 simple rules:
1. Everyone must qualify and race on a bike with only one gear.
2. If you win, you must get the tattoo.
Other than those simple rules, all bets are off.
@classicretro Why do we not have a fixed wheel CX championships?
Because fixies are hipster nonsense, single speeds are still legitimate mountain bikes.
