The Leinster Loop with Stephen Roche has been nominated as Cycling Ireland’s Best Leisure Cycle Event in 2012, 2013 & 2014. Now in it’s 6th year we are offering a choice of 5 routes: 130km, 90km, 50km, 25km & a family friendly 12km spin.
On Sunday 16th August our 130km, 90km & 50km cyclists will be welcomed with tea, coffee, muffins, bananas etc., and are led out onto our well signed & marshalled courses. We have well timed water and food stops along the way, with full medical and broom wagon backup. On their return our cyclists will be offered leg massage, warm showers, hot food, and can relax in comfort.
On Saturday 15th August our 25km & 12km cycles will take place, with a well timed food stop for snacks & water, before being welcomed home to a BBQ & Loop the Loop ice cream. These routes are aimed at families, and also offer the opportunity for the adults to return on Sunday to take part in one of our longer cycles.
We will be joined on both days, on all routes, by Stephen Roche – Ireland’s only Tour de France winner, and one of only two people ever to win the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and the World Championship. We will also have a local hero – John Doyle – GAA All Star and former Kildare football captain cycling on Saturday & Sunday.
The Leinster Loop takes place in South Kildare – is run entirely by volunteers, with all funds raised going to Breast Cancer Research (formerly NBCRI) and St Laurence’s Community Complex (our venue).
We would greatly appreciate your support for our event – see www.leinsterloop.com for full details & registration.
Our online entrants have the chance to win a week for two people in Stephen Roche’s Cycle Training Camp in Mallorca! Only online entrants will receive a goodie bag.
