Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) took his third stage victory at the Tour of Qatar on the 153km stage from Al Zubara Fort to Madinat ash-Shamal, beating Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) and Nikias Arndt (Ger) Team Giant-Alpecin.

Niki Terpstra (Etixx-QuickStep) managed to hang on to his overall lead, despite having to chase back to the front group to finish 16th, in the same time as Kristoff. However thanks to taking yet another 10-second time bonus, Kristoff is now just 11 seconds behind the Dutchman.

There are time bonuses available on the final stage to Doha Corniche at the intermediate sprints and at the finish, so this race is liable to be a fight to the end.
