Sam Bennett (Bora-Argon 18) can be expected to be in the hunt for the win at tomorrow’s Scheldeprijs. However, he will be up against it as many big-name sprinters are also due to take part.

The UCI 1.HC race starts in Antwerp with the finish 200 kilometres later in Schoten. The race usually ends in a sprint finish, with Marcel Kittel having won the previous three editions. Prior to Kittel’s wins, Mark Cavendish had also won three times, in addition to Tyler Farrar and Alessandro Petacchi taking victories.

Farrar finished in second place last year, with Bennett taking 5th in his debit in the race. Kittel will not be taking part this year, but amongst those who can expect to be in contention are Flanders winner Alexander Kristoff (Team Katusha), Andre Greipel (Lotto Soudal), Elia Viviani (Team Sky), Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) and Tyler Farrar (MTN-Qhubeka).
