Dutch cyclist Roxane Knetemann has posted a photo of a splinter from the wooden track which was removed from her leg after she had crashed in the Points Race at the Dutch National Championships over the weekend.

Knetemann who is leaving Rabo Liv at the end of this season to join Poitou–Charentes.Futuroscope.86 for 2017 posted the photo on Instagram with the message: “I like to have souvenirs of the track nationals but more like medals and jerseys, not this one!… crash today in de pointrace 😔 #splinter happy the surgeon get it out! #macdreamy”

The championships took place at the Omnisport velodrome in Apeldoorn and the Women’s Points race was won by Kirsten Wild.
