This year’s edition of Liège-Bastogne-Liège will feature a new climb near the finish in Ans, the cobbled climb of La Côte de Naniot.
The Côte de la rue Naniot is just 600 meters long with an average gradient of 10.9%. The cobbled street is just three kilometres from the finish and could offer opportunists a chance to attack, rather than wait for the finish.
The climb will add to the difficulty for the final hour of racing where the riders will also have to tackle the 7. Côte de La Redoute (2 kms at 8.9 %), the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons (1.3 kms at 11 %) and the Côte de Saint-Nicolas (1.2 km at 8.6%.)
The Côte de la Rue Naniot is the last of ten categorised climbs that the riders will face.
