Blessington Greenway is a new ‘hidden gem’ right on Dublin’s doorstep. It links the historic town of Blessington with the Palladian mansion of Russborough House.
It is virtually all ‘off-road’ and covers 6.5kms along the shores and through the forests adjacent to Blessington Lakes – ideal for a leisurely stroll or cycle.
Plans are now being prepared for the addition of a complete loop right around the lakes for a total of more than 40kms.
The clip below is a 3 minute promo video for Phase 2 of the Blessington Greenway. The eventual plan is for a greenway that will circle the lakes and the community-based team behind the greenway are hopeful of securing funding for in 2016.
