Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, previously expressed her desire to have a “car free day” in Paris in an effort to reduce pollution in the city. It has now been announced that September 27th is the date for the car-free day.

On the day, cars will be prohibited in the city centre, namely the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris.

Also affected will be part of the left bank, along the Boulevard Saint-Germain and the Saint-Martin canal, the Place de la Republique, Place Stalingrad, Place du Colonel-Fabien and Place de la Bastille.
