Orica-Scott posted a photo on Twitter after yesterday’s Paris-Roubaix showing the severe impact from riding the numerous sectors of cobbles on one of their rider’s hands which can be seen to be badly blistered.

It’s unclear from the tweet which of their rider’s hands are shown in the photo. The tweet from the Australian team reads: “The effects of Roubaix. It’s the one race where every rider has a different story.”

The riders faced 29 sectors of pavé totalling 55 kilometres over the course of the 257-kilometre race.

The team’s top finisher was last year’s winner Mathew Hayman in 11th place followed by Luka Mezgec in 67th, Jens Keukeleire in 83rd, Alexander Edmondson in 90th and Mitch Docker in 91st. Magnus Cort Nielsen, Luke Durbridge and Sam Bewley were listed as DNF.
