Danish rider Magnus Cort Nielsen (Orica-Bike Exchange) won a bunch sprint on the 18th stage of the Vuelta a España in Gandia.

The 23-year-old finished ahead of Nikias Arndt (Giant-Alpecin) and Jempy Drucker (BMC Racing) who had won the previous bunch sprint in Peñíscola on Monday.

The GC contenders had a relatively quiet day and Nairo Quintana retained the overall leader’s red jersey ahead of Friday’s individual time trial, which he will start with a comfortable lead over Chris Froome (Sky) and Esteban Chaves (Orica-Bike Exchange).
