There was good news yesterday evening for Nicolas Roche as he announced that he had been released from hospital following his recent spider bite and hopes to resume training soon.

The Irish rider posted the following message on Twitter: “Good to be out of hospital. 4/5 days to recover, and good news I should be able to get back to normal training next week.”

It was the second such incident that Roche has suffered in recent months. Back in November, he was forced off the bike due to another spider bite. He had been training on the Gold Coast in Australia whilst on his honeymoon when the incident took place.

Roche, who won stage 18 of last year’s Vuelta a Espana, posted a photo earlier this week of the two bites.
