Following the government announcement of ‘local lockdown measures’ in counties, Kildare, Laois and Offaly today which come into effect from the 8th of August, Usher Irish Road Club have confirmed the cancellation of rounds five and six of the Mondello Series which were scheduled to take place on August 11th and August 18th.

This coincides with the closures of sporting venues in a bid to address the recent spike in positive cases of Covid 19 and reduce the potential spread. The restrictions announced are for an initial two week period.

In a statement from the organisers, they said: “This decision has no reflection on anybody who has participated in or attended Mondello at previous editions and we are grateful for the cooperation and diligence shown by all in attendance to ensure that our events took place in as safe an environment as possible while also delivering some great racing too. Unfortunately this action is taken out of our hands by the state authorities.”

Currently there will still be one more round left, Round Seven which is scheduled for August 25th. All those who have currently entered Round Five (11th August) will have their entry carried over to Round Seven. Those on the reserve list will also have their registration carried over to Round Seven also. If Round Seven does not occur because of an extension of the restriction, refunds will be administered.

For those who do not wish to wait and see if Round Seven occurs, please complete the form through the link below and we will be in contact in due course.
