Matthew Teggart (Team WIGGINS) has taken over the Eisberg Sprints Jersey at the OVO Energy Tour of Britain after winning all three intermediate sprints on today’s second stage.

The 22 year-old Irishman managed to make it into the break of the day on the 174-kilometre stage from Cranbrook to Barnstaple. Alongside Teggart in the five-man break which went clear over the top of the opening climb were stage winner Cameron Meyer (Mitchelton-Scott), Erick Rowsell (Madison-Genesis), Alessandro Tonelli (Bardiani-CSF rider) and Scott Davies (Dimension Data).

Teggart won the first sprint in Tiverton after 51 kilometres ahead of Rowsell and Tonelli. Sixteen kilometres later he took the sprint in Nomansland ahead of Tonelli and Davies and it was the same order at the final sprint in Landkey at the 102-kilometre mark.
