Young Irish rider Matthew Teggart (An Post-Chain Reaction) crashed heavily at last weekend’s U23 Liège-Bastogne-Liège, breaking his elbow, but he has confirmed that he is already back on his bike.

Teggart has been receiving treatment at Centre Cenit, the multidisciplinary sports healthcare centre in Girona in Spain.

“Thankfully it’s only a very minor fracture and I’m super pleased to be back on the bike already and on the road to recovery,” the young Irishman announced on his Instagram page.

“It would not be possible without @anpostchainreaction and our amazing sponsor @centrecenit with their world class staff and facilities who are taking care of me and getting me back to 100% fitness again in the shortest time possible. I’m already looking forward to getting racing again…thumbs up from today’s ride with not too much pain.”

The 21 year-old has had a promising start to his first season at UCI Continental level. He has taken a couple of top twenty placings in the opening months of the season including a ninth on a stage of the Tour de Normandie (2.2) and 15th on a stage of Le Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux (2.2).
