Dutch all-rounder Pim Ligthart will take to the boards in the inaugural Six Day London next week as a late replacement for former World Scratch Champion Martyn Irvine.

According a statement from the organisers this evening, Irvine was injured whilst competing at the European Track Championships this week but it is unclear what the injury is.

Ligthart, who won the Six Days of Amsterdam in 2012 with Michael Morkov, will partner with Olympic Omnium Champion Lasse Norman Hansen, in what will be one of the strongest teams in an event already packed with some of the best track riders in the world including; 2 Olympic Champions, 5 European Champions and 10 World Champions.

It will be the first Six-Day race to take place in London for 35 years, and the event will take place between October 18-23.
