Former World Scratch Race champion Martyn Irvine was in action yesterday at the fourth round of the Revolution Series in Glasgow, and the Irish rider showed that he’s in good form by taking second place overall on the night.

Irvine was representing One Pro Cycling, and was partnered with Marc Hester. The pair finished fourth in the 1km Madison Time Trial, just behind the JLT Condor p/b Mavic duo of Felix English and Joey Walker but Irvine and Hester’s best performance of the meet was in the elimination race where they finished second behind the Team Wiggins pair of Jon Dibben and Owain Doull.

Amongst the others taking part included Geraint Thomas and Ian Stannard of Team Sky and Orica-Greenedge’s Adam Blythe.

Hester and Irvine finished in 2nd place overall behind Team Wiggins who dominated the event. Team Wiggins finished with 134 points, well ahead of One Pro Cycling on 72 and Orica-GreenEdge on 68. The next round of the Revolution Series takes place in Manchester on the 2nd of January.
