Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins (Team Saey – Calant) have taken over the lead at the Ghent Six-Day having gained a lap on their closest rivals on the fourth day of racing.

The British pair now lead by a lap from previous race leaders Kenny De Ketele and Moreno De Pauw (Team Baloise Insurance) and Elia Viviani and Iljo Keisse (Team LIDL).

Wiggins and Cavendish have 285 points with De Ketele and De Pauw on 295 points and Viviani and Keisse on 292 points.

The British duo took over the lead thanks to their victories in the Team Elimination race, the Madison and both their heat and final of the Derny Race.
