Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins (Team Saey – Calant) have maintained their lead on the fifth evening of racing at the Ghent Six-Day.
The British pair still lead by one lap from two other pairings – Kenny De Ketele and Moreno De Pauw (Team Baloise Insurance) and Elia Viviani and Iljo Keisse (Team LIDL).
Wiggins and Cavendish have 358 points with De Ketele and De Pauw on 385 points and Viviani and Keisse on 370 points.
Amongst the winners on the evening were Keisse and Viviani who won the final Madison of the evening, Keisse who took the Derny race and De Pauw and De Ketele who won the 500-metre time-trial. The Belgian pair also won the Team Elimination race.
