BISSELL-ABG-GIANT has announced that 23-year-old Marcus Christie of Ireland joins the team for the 2015 road season. The native of Derry will be the team’s leader in top U.S. multiday events such as the Joe Martin Stage Race and North Star Grand Prix as well as UCI one-day road races. He spent last season with the An Post Sean Kelly Team in Belgium.
This year he placed 13th in the men’s time trial at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and sixth in the opening stage and wore the white jersey in the L’Etoile Des Besseges, UCI 2.1 professional stage race in France. Christie also holds the Irish record for the 100-mile time trial, covering the distance in a 3 hours, 27 minutes, 11 seconds.
