Just like in the past two seasons, Julian Alaphilippe will commence his campaign in South America. The Frenchman will appear at the start of the 38th Vuelta a San Juan, from January 26 to February 2, and subsequently at the third edition of the Tour Colombia, from February 11 to 16.

Alaphilippe, who notched up three stage wins for Deceuninck – Quick-Step in Argentina and Colombia last year – in addition to being the best placed European rider in the general classification of both events – is looking forward to getting the new season going with the same two multi-day races where the team has tasted success on numerous occasions.

“This past season I had an excellent start of the year in the Vuelta a San Juan and Tour Colombia. It’s been amazing for me, a great experience, made even more memorable by the fantastic fans over there. I’m really happy I can start my season in these beautiful countries again and I will do my utmost to get some good results”, said the 27-year-old Frenchman, whose sterling 2019 season was capped off by winning the prestigious Velo d’Or trophy, which rewards the best rider in the world.
