Following on from recent incidents at the Tour of Flanders where two Shimano support cars took out Jesse Sergent and Sebastien Chavanel, another incident took place today at the Tour of Romandie.

Tinkoff Saxo rider Jesper Hansen was the victim this time, although he seemed to escape serious injury. The Danish rider had been involved in a crash during Stage 2, and just as he started his chase back to the peloton, he was knocked down by the driver of the medical car who opened his car door in front of him.

Once again, he was able to continue and finished the stage 15 minutes down on stage winner, Michael Albasini of Orica GreenEdge.
