Pro BMX rider, Jed Mildon has landed the world’s first ever quadruple BMX backflip. He achieved it at Travis Pastrana’s home compound in Davidsonville, Maryland.

Two riders, Mildon and James Foster, had been vying to become the first rider to achieve the feat, and Mildon had numerous failed attempts in recent months before he got it right. He was also involved with ongoing tweaking of the ramp.

As an indication of how difficult and painful it is, James Foster said that he had more or less broken all of his ribs in the attempt. He told Transworld.net “My first try I drifted to the side a little and missed the landing because the first landing was not what it needed to be. I broke two ribs on the second try, and went back six weeks later to try it again, and ended up breaking two more ribs on my first attempt back.”
