A new bike path in Wolverhampton in the UK has been getting a lot of attention in recent days as it appears to be a contender for World’s shortest cycle path.

The path is along Snow Hill in the Midlands city and it appears to be just a couple of metres long – barely enough to get a pedal rev completed.

Wolverhampton council have stated that interested cycling groups “are regularly consulted on wider plans for cycle routes in Wolverhampton.”

They added that the path is a continuation of two prominent city cycle routes.

“The routes continue across the pavement from St George’s Parade to Snow Hill to enable cyclists to avoid the traffic lights at the road junction. There are no markings on the pavement as it is a ‘shared route’ also used by pedestrians to access the pelican crossing.” – Wolverhampton City Council
