Dublin Cycling Campaign have produced an interesting infographic about bike theft in the city. The information is based on results from a survey conducted last December.

Over 1500 people completed the survey and of these over 1000 had had a bicycle stolen in Dublin in the last 5 years.

Amongst the interesting points are:

– Only 1 in 4 bike thefts are reported
– In 2013, the true number of bikes stolen was estimated to be about 20,000
– Only 1% of bike thefts result in a conviction
