Belgium is famous for cyclo-cross and beer and one race has a unique way of combining the two. A race in Baardegem, near Aalst, takes the riders through the Ons Huis pub.
Organiser Bart Van den Bossche explained that “It’s something special, they have to ride through a narrow corridor, through the hall and back to the streets.” The race used to previously pass through another pub Cafe Maxens, but when that was destroyed in a fire, they had to find a new lap.
