Etixx-Quick-Step had their team launch at the Flemish Cycling Centre in Ghent yesterday evening, where they presented the 2015 team to fans and sponsors. With the exception of the riders participating in the Tour Down Under, all other riders were present at the event.
“It is a unique public relations opportunity for our sponsors and their customers to see the riders,” said manager Patrick Lefevere. “It is also a unique opportunity for fans of the riders to see them close up.”
Marc Coucke the founder of Omega Pharma, thanked Zdenek Bakala, who since 2011 has pumped a lot of money into the team. “We are enormously grateful that he supports this team in Belgium. Without Zdenek our team would never be at such a high level. Personally, I hope again for many successes for the team in 2015. When I think of Tom Boonen, then I hope firstly that he will be the happy dad of twins and secondly, I dream that in April he also will give us a double success in the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.”
