Julián Sanz rode the equivalent of 2,800 kilometres on a turbo trainer last week at a trade show in Bilbao, and in doing so, set a new Guinness World Record. The previous record was 2,738 kilometres set by the Frenchman Pierre-Michaël Micaletti last year.

Sanz outlined that he had started off averaging 34 kmph at the start of his attempt, but that his speed dropped as the days passed, and when he overtook Micaletti’s mark he had dropped down to 22 kmph.

Sanz aims to take part in the Race Across America next year.
