Cycling Ireland have produced a short video of some of the highlights from the 2016 road racing season both at home and abroad from an Irish perspective.
Amongst the footage included are the stage wins by both Eoin Morton (UCD) and Eddie Dunbar (Ireland) at the An Post Rás, which was won overall by Clemens Fankhauser (Tirol Cycling Team) for a second time.
An Post Rás na mBan which took place in Kilkenny in September also features. The top stage race in the country for women was won by Rikke Lønne (Team Crescent D.A.R.E.) of Denmark.
Footage of the National Road Race Championships which took place in Kilcullen is included. The men’s race was won by Nicolas Roche (Team Sky) with Lydia Boylan (Team WNT) taking the women’s title.
Ryan Mullen’s fifth place at the Elite Men’s World TT Championships is shown as is Sam Bennett’s win at Paris-Bourges.
