The German rider Johannes Fischbach won Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo 2016 in Chile last weekend after a record-breaking time in the spectacular mountain bike downhill street race.

It was the sixth edition of the race that sees pro riders take on a difficult urban-based course shaped out of the historical streets, stairwells and narrow passageways of the World Heritage sea port city of Valparaíso.

The race was the first event of the City Downhill World Tour which will also see races taking place in Taxco, Mexico and Bratislava, Slovakia.

Filip Polc settled for second place behind Johannes Fischbach, with former unofficial whip-off world champs winner Bernardo Cruz taking third to round out the podium.
