The Lithuanian rider Gediminas Bagdonas has signed a new contract with the French team AG2R-La Mondiale.
This means that the 2012 Lithuanian champion continues with the team for a third consecutive year. He has stated that his main aims for 2015 will be the Spring Classics, and the team have strengthened their classics team with the signings of the Belgians Jan Bakelants and Johan Vansummeren.
Bagdonas signed for Ag2r after two prolific years with the An Post team in 2011 and 2012. During that time, he won the An Post Rás, Ronde de l’Oise, Ronde van Noord Holland and a stage of the Tour of Britain.
However, since joining the French team, he has had limited success with his highlight being winning the sprints classification of the Four Days of Dunkirk.
