Check out this video of the Canadian cyclist Garett Buehler racing down the 999 steps from the top of Mount Tianmen in 29.94 seconds to take victory in the Red Bull Sky Gate Mountain Race.

The race took place in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in central China’s Hunan Province last Sunday. “I’m just happy to be at the bottom, and see the rest of my homeys come down,” said Buehler afterwards.

The course consisted of 999 steps and three barriers. Two competitors were injured when racing downhill and five other participants withdrew the competition during a practice on Friday. The footage includes the crash of one of those who was injured.
