Footage of hazards faced by Dublin cyclists on a daily basis has been posted by The Irish Independent, who filmed near-misses taking place at various locations around the Irish capital.

The video includes footage of a taxi parked in a bike lane which forces cyclists into flowing traffic, and the dangers faced by cyclists on the Quays as buses encroach on the marked cycle lanes.

The footage was filmed over the course of a week at locations including Tara Street, O’Connell Bridge, Custom House and the Quays.

The junction of Tara Street and the Quays appears to be particularly dangerous for cyclists with numerous cars turning left in front of cyclists.
