EvoPro Racing, the Irish professional cycling team, opens the 2020 season this coming weekend at Grote Prijs Jean-Pierre Monseré (1.1 UCI) in Belgium. The team starts its second season with four riders returning from its 2019 roster, including Dutch sprinter Wouter Wippert and Irishman Aaron Kearney. A number of young cyclists join the program for 2020, including the Brazilian national champion, Vitor Zucco Schizzi. The team roster consists of 11 riders from 9 countries for the start of the 2020 season.

“We are delighted to start our season in GP Jean Pierre Monseré. It is a very prestigious race against world tour competition and the history of its name bearer is fascinating. We look forward to fighting the roads of Flanders to honour this great champion. A stiff opening test for our seasoned EvoPro riders and our new riders to show their mettle,“ said Morgan Fox, Head Sports Director, EvoPro Racing.

The new signings include: Peter Cevini (ITA), Jeroen Eyskens (BEL), Ben Walsh (IRE), Bernat Font Mas (ESP), Oskar Nisu (EST), Sean Nolan (IRE) and Zucco Schizzi (BRA).

Australian Cyrus Monk, known for his strength and ability to join early breaks and then bring up the team’s sprinter in the final kilometres, returns for another season with EvoPro Racing. Monk, who rode one season alongside Wippert at the UCI WorldTour Cannondale-Drapac team, will look carry much of the workload for the sprint train. The 2020 program will focus on races where the team can showcase its sprint train, power and speed.

Wippert motivated to return to the races, bringing experience and power to the growing EvoPro Racing. Also returning to the program alongside Monk, Kearney and Wippert is Daniel Whitehouse (GBR).

“I am happy to start the racing off this weekend in the green of EvoPro. We recorded some solid wins in 2019 and I look to keep the momentum from 2019 for better results in 2020. We have a good group of young and motivated riders in our team and that will help us move the program to the next level in the seasons ahead. I am one of the more experienced riders on the team and we are all under 30 years of age, so it’s a great mix,” said Wippert.

PJ Nolan, General Manager of EvoPro Racing is delighted with the formation of the program for 2020.

“Here we are into our second season for our program. I am excited about the international roster of riders we have for EvoPro in 2020. We will continue to maintain our mission to offer cyclists a racing program that is based on strong values, community and learning,” said Nolan.
