In addition to the route of the Tour de France being announced today, the stage that will be used for Etape du Tour was also revealed.

The 20th and penultimate stage of the Tour, from Megève to Morzine, will be used. The stage is 146 kilometres long and will feature four categorised climbs.

The first climb of the day is the 1,487m climb of the Col des Aravis followed by the 1,1618 metre Col de Colombiere soon after. Riders will have a little bit of respite before taking on the penultimate climb of the Col de la Ramaz which stands at 1,619 metres.

The final climb of the day is the Col de Joux Plane which at 1,691 metres is the high point of the day, before the descent to the finish in Morzine.
