In the Men’s Keirin at the UCI Track World Cup in Cali earlier today, Eoin Mullen suffered a crash in the opening heat putting him out of contention for the rest of the event.

His fall in the first round of the heats of the Keirin was a hard one, and resulted in a hospital trip for the Aran Islands native. However, he later confirmed that he hadn’t suffered any serious injuries.

“I can’t remember exactly how it happened, but I went to the hospital for an X-Ray on my ribs, but it’s all good,” Mullen said later.

Mullen is back in action today, lining up in the Sprint. Other members of the Cycling Ireland team are also in action today with Lydia Gurley competing in the 20-kilometre Points Race and Mark Downey will once again team up with Felix English for the 30-kilometre Madison.
