Eduardo Sepúlveda is set to make his debut for Movistar Team at his home race, the Vuelta a San Juan Internacional. The Argentinean who signed from Fortuneo-Oscaro has performed well at San Juan previously having finished 11th overall last year riding for his national team.

He has also performed well in the past on home roads at the Tour de San Luis. In 2016, he finished second overall when Dayer Quintana won with Nairo Quintana in third. Now Sepúlveda lines up alongside Dayer on the Movistar line-up. The Spanish team have contested the Argentinean UCI 2.1, seven-stage event on six occasions and have taken the overall victory twice.

The team’s roster also includes Colombian Winner Anacona, Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz and Spaniards Antonio Pedrero and Víctor de la Parte.

The 36th edition of the race takes place from 21st to 28th January and the decisive stages will be Stage Three (a 14km individual time trial) and Stage Five over the slopes of the Alto Colorado.
