Eddie Dunbar and his NFTO team mates have been checking out the course of the Tour de Yorkshire. The new race is a legacy event following on from the Tour de France having taken place in Yorkshire last year. The race will feature many of the same roads as were used in the Tour and it takes place from the 1st to the 3rd of May.

The teams for the race have been announced and will see a mix of teams including World Tour teams and British squads.

The Tour de Yorkshire may offer Dunbar his first opportunity at racing at this level, and it’s something that he’s looking forward to. He said on the team’s website after the recce of the hilly third stage, “That’s the most climbing I have ever done in a day I’d say. The last twenty or thirty k were memorable for me and where I think the race will be won and lost there on that final climb. I have really enjoyed the three days in Yorkshire and it’s been brilliant to see the course”.
