We posted a story yesterday about a deliberate near miss by a truck driver who was driving a company vehicle at the time of the incident.  After the video was posted the businesses Yelp page took a bit of a hammering in the ratings and was receiving a lot of bad press.  Since then the original poster of the video Zenon Zorglub has got in touch with the owner of SJS Plumbing Inc and thanks to the power of the internet he brings us some good news today.

“Alright everyone…. I just got off the phone with the owner of SJS. After some email exchanges, we connected and had a good talk. Let me immediately say he is a good guy from what I gathered, and he does not condone such behavior. The driver of the truck is feeling bad about this, and taking our some frustrations in this inappropriate way.”

Zenon then goes on to talk about why he posted the video in the first place.. “The purpose of my video was to bring awareness to the problem, and teach malicious motorists that with today’s technology you better watch your behavior. It’s not about bashing people, especially personal attacks.”

So rather than just bashing the company he decides “In retribution, I have asked the driver of that truck to come do a road ride with me on one of those skinny-tyre bikes! Yep, that’s right. And the driver has enthusiastically agreed to join me. That seems like the best way to get some awareness here.”

“In light of all this, I ask you all to help me turn this around and show the biking community is able to take the high road as well. Help me put a positive spin on this, and spread the word wherever this story has started to metastasize. Let’s get coverage, but good coverage now, a story of successfully educating a dangerous motorist rather than stoking car/bike conflict. Let’s make this a “happy ending” so to speak. And please, please don’t harass the owner of SJS. I would also consider taking down the flow of negative Yelp reviews.”

“I will keep you posted on new developments, and will post some footage of our ride together. Thank you all for the support!”
