After spending eight years with the Slipstream team under its various different names, Dan Martin made a big move last winter when he joined the Belgian team Etixx-Quick Step.

In this video, Martin reflects on the 2016 season, his results and talks about the expectations he has for next year.

Martin enjoyed a couple of wins during his first year with the team, including taking victory on the second stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, his first win for over a year.

The Irish rider took another win against a strong field in the Volta a Catalunya, going on to finish third overall behind Nairo Quintana and Alberto Contador.

He also finished third overall at the Critérium du Dauphiné behind Chris Froome and Romain Bardet as well getting a third place at La Flèche Wallonne.

At the Tour de France, he had his best ever overall finish, as he finished in ninth place overall.
