Paris may have been occupied by the Germans for much of the Second World War, but that didn’t stop cyclocross races from taking place.

This race took place in the Montmartre district on the 19th of February 1943, where 50 riders took to the start line. The lap took them past the Sacre Couer and they had to negotiate 1408 steps amongst other obstacles.
