When Dutch rider Maarten de Jonge punctured whilst out on a training spin in Thailand, his team came to the rescue by hauling him and his bike to their hotel.

And it seems it was no easy task. They still had 10 kilometres left to cycle in 44 degrees Celsius heat. In addition, De Jonge indicated that he weighs 85 kilos. No mean feat.

The 31 year-old Dutch rider races with the Team Lvshan Landscape, a Chinese Continental Team (CT) and they are currently preparing for their forthcoming participation in The Princess Maha Chackri Sirindhon’s Cup “Tour of Thailand” (UCI 2.2)

De Jonge outlined his gratitude as he tweeted:

“Thats’s teamspirit! #unique Thanks to my teammates helping me out of trouble #puncture #10k back to hotel 💪😥 ”
