We posted a story earlier in the week about a cyclist getting doored by a motorist, and narrowly avoiding serious injury. Since then, the driver of the car who filmed the near-miss has provided some updates on the incident.
The video was filmed from a dashboard camera by London taxi driver Aliraj Miah on the Mile End road. Another motorist opens his car door in front of a cyclist sending him into the direction of the taxi. Fortunately, Mr. Miah was able to stop the car before driving over him.
Mr. Miah has since tweeted that the cyclist was left with a few cuts and that the “silver car is paying for damages.” He also confirms that he “just spoke to cyclist, he’s nice n well. Man wants to take me out for a drink now.”
In another tweet, he says that “My message will be drivers always need to check mirror before opening the door.”
