A cyclist in Amsterdam somehow managed to get his head stuck between the bars of railings in the city this week, according to a report on www.nltimes.nl. It happened after he crashed into the railings while riding on Veemkade beside the Ij river.

Emergency responders helped to free the unnamed man who was subsequently examined by paramedics. He was treated at the scene and given the all-clear.

After the crash, the English cyclist had been able to reach his mobile phone to call emergency services. However, there had initially been some difficulty in finding the man in the dark along the two-kilometre stretch of road. He hadn’t been able to tell emergency services where exactly he was.

It’s unclear how he managed to get his head stuck, and according to the cyclist he had not been paying close attention whilst cycling.
