Irish riders Connor McConvey and Jack Wilson have been listed on the provisional startlist for the forthcoming Etoile de Bessèges (UCI 2.1).
Also down to start for the An Post – Chain Reaction team are former Trek Factory Racing rider Calvin Watson, Jasper Bovenhuis, Nicolas Vereecken, Emiel Wastyn, Oliver Kent-Spark and Sean Bennett.
The opening stage of the five-day stage race takes place on February 3 and will see the riders cover a distance of 156 kilometres from Bellegarde to Beaucaire. The race concludes with a 12-kilometre time-trial at Alès.
The Irish team will line up against a number of World Tour teams including Lotto-Soudal, FDJ and AG2R La Mondiale.
McConvey returns to the team after an absence of three years. He raced with the An Post team from 2010 to 2012 during which time he took top ten placings in both the National Championships and An Post Rás.
Wilson endured a very difficult season last year whereby he broke a number of bones in crashes and will be hopeful of returning to his form from the previous season where he had some very good results including 5th in the National Championships, 4th overall in Kreiz Breizh Elites (UCI 2.2) and also a top-20 in the Prudential RideLondon Classic (1.HC).
