Conn McDunphy (C.C.Nogent-sur-Oise) has today won the Kildare Open TT Championships, the first Cycling Ireland sanctioned event since the Covid-19 lockdown measures eased.

The time trial took place on a 16-kilometre course outside Johnstown Bridge in North Kildare. The riders faced an undulating course and McDunphy described conditions as “quite a hard head wind out and it was super fast once you got over the hill after the roundabout back to the finish.”

23 year-old McDunphy, who was also one of the main organisers of the race completed the 16-kilometre course in a time of 20’04”, beating Greg Swinard by 30″ with Dermot Trulock rounding out the podium, a further 29″ down.
