Colin Lynch, of the Irish Paralympic Cycling Team and Para-T Team in the UK, is set to attempt to break the UCI Paracycling Hour Record for the C2 class.

The record currently sits at 41km 31m and has been held by Laurent Thirionet of France since 1999. It was Thirionet that beat Lynch by 1/10th of second to snatch the Pursuit bronze medal at London 2012 so there is extra incentive to take this record.

Lynch won the World Championship title in the Time Trial in 2011 and the Individual Pursuit in 2012 and is currently preparing for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. He’s hoping this attempt will help shine the spotlight on Paracycling for the next World Championships in March (Italy) and the Rio Paralympic Games.

His coach, Neill Delahaye, will be trackside calling the splits to Lynch.

The attempt will be streamed live and you can view it below. Jody Cundy and Darren Kenny will be providing commentary and the attempt will start at 2.00pm GMT on October 10th.
