With 13km’s of cobbles in tomorrows stage Froome will be using the K8-S which was used by all of the Sky riders in this years classics.

The bike runs wider tires and has a year suspension system to take the sting out of the cobbles.

Other mods on the bike are bendable alum bottle cages with sandpaper finish to stop bottles from falling out on the bumpy sections and top bar mounted electronic shifters.

Other changes specific to Froome are the use of O.Symentric chainrings (biopace to you and me) and some custom bar tape with the top of the bars getting two wraps of tape for a bit more comfort up front. Will it make a difference with just 13km’s of cobbles?
