The 2013 and 2015 Tour de France winner, Chris Froome, is amongst the speakers lined up to speak at Web Summit which takes place in Dublin this week.

The Briton will speak at the Sport Summit, which is a standalone conference within Web Summit. Speakers at Sport Summit will discuss various subjects including data analytics, sporting governance, elite performance and the social impact of sport.

Other well-known names from sport who will also be speaking at the summit include rugby players Brian O’Driscoll, Jamie Heaslip and Doug Howlett, footballers including Rio Ferdinand and Edwin van der Saar, golfer Padraig Harrington and boxers Carl Frampton and Barry McGuigan.

Froome will discuss the subject of ‘Marginal Gains’ alongside BBC broadcaster Ben Smith on the Sport Stage at 3.20pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

In 4 years, Web Summit has grown from 400 attendees to over 22,000 from more than 110 countries. It’s been called “the best technology conference on the planet.”

It has been held in Dublin since the first running in 2010, but will move to Lisbon next year.
