Chris Froome (Team Sky) has provided more details today on the results and analysis of his physiological testing which is to be published by Esquire magazine on December 3.

The analysis of the 2013 and 2015 Tour de France winner is based on his recent testing and that carried out at the World Cycling Centre in 2007.

The Briton tweeted the following message:

“To address a few of the questions I’ve been receiving over the last couple of days:”

“The data being published in Esquire UK magazine will also be submitted for publication in a scientific journal in the subsequent months. The scientists involved have gone to lengths to ensure that the correct methodology was used during both the collection of the data and it’s analysis.”

“Both the discussion around the methodology and the analysis have therefore taken some time. It was important that the analysis released in both the general press and scientific press be consistent as this would otherwise create confusion and more questions.”

“As a result the release of the initial findings had to wait until the scientists had completed their analysis and given approval that the results presented are correct.”
